I’m a sucker for a fake relationship, and this one is juicy! Olive’s family is so excited to have her home for the holidays, but she’s been avoiding coming home for the last three years. I enjoy books that in the past something has happened and is mentioned throughout the story and you’re constantly trying to figure it out before it is revealed. I would like to say that I was correct in my guess but my jaw still dropped when it was revealed!
“𝐈 𝐝𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐲, 𝐨𝐫 𝐬𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞. 𝐈 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐚𝐛𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐜𝐫𝐚𝐳𝐲, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐢𝐭 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐲𝐨𝐮.”
Olive’s family is constantly bugging her about her love life and she accidently lets it slip that she will be bringing her boyfriend home. Problem? Yes, she doesn’t have a boyfriend! That is until she meets hunky Finn Beckett on her plane to Aspen. He offers to help her out but Olive turns him down.
When they happen to “bump” into each other again, Olive agrees to let Finn be her fake boyfriend for the next twelve days of her trip. And since Olive is such a Christmas Grinch Finn told her he’s going to give her the best Christmas she’s ever had. How’s he going to do that? By giving her the twelve days of Christmas, or twelve days of Aspen! No, the twelve days of Finn. All inclusive.
I loved reading their love story, Olive is stubborn and Finn knows what he wants and will do anything to get it. Their banter was hilarious and I loved Finn’s nickname for Olive. And Olive’s family, they were so close knit and really cared for each other, and they all welcomed Finn in with arms wide open!
“𝐒𝐨, 𝐈 𝐰𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐠𝐥𝐚𝐝𝐥𝐲 𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐦 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐛𝐚𝐠𝐠𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐢𝐟 𝐢𝐭 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐛𝐞 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐞.”
Juliana is so descriptive in her writing that I could picture this book as a movie playing while I was reading. This book gives you everything, Christmas, fake dating, secrets, forced proximity, grumpy x sunshine and a happily ever after ending! If you love those tropes then this is a must read for you! I’m so thankful to Juliana Smith for allowing me to read this before it’s published on November 26th! Pre-order your copy now! You won’t regret it!
