“𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐨 𝐬𝐮𝐜𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐬 𝐛𝐚𝐝 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞. 𝐖𝐞’𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐝𝐨 𝐛𝐚𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬.”
I might have given this book five stars if it wasn’t so hyped up on social media. I had really high expectations and they weren’t completely met. I’m more excited for the second book, I can’t wait to read more about Atlas!
From the beginning of the book, I was fascinated with Lily’s character and the interactions she shares with Ryle and Atlas. As the story progressed, there were moments that left me in shock and I genuinely felt a lot for Lily and what she went through. The way Colleen wrote this story gave a unique perspective into what Lily went through, and what many women have experienced like her. As I got more into reading the story, I found myself holding back tears because my heart broke for both Lily and Atlas.
“𝐈𝐭 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐩𝐬 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞. 𝐖𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐦𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮. 𝐈𝐭 𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐮𝐬.”
Overall pretty well done if a little too much filler in the middle of the book. The ending was pretty superb and that epilogue! I have to admit I was rooting for Atlas the whole time, but I have a weak spot for rescuers.
I still highly recommend!
