This is a Schitt’s Creek-inspired rom-com about a Hollywood “It Girl” who is cut off from her wealthy family and exiled to a small Pacific Northwest beach town... where she butts heads with a surly, sexy local who thinks she doesn’t belong.

What drew me to this book was that it is a Schitt’s Creek inspired rom-com, I love Schitt’s Creek and rom-coms! I believe I gave it four stars because it was so hyped up from social media and my sister. I did love the amount of steam! This book doesn’t hold back!

“𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐈 𝐡𝐮𝐠 𝐲𝐨𝐮?” 𝐅𝐮𝐜𝐤. 𝐇𝐢𝐬 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐚 𝐜𝐚𝐫 𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞. “𝐌𝐲 𝐡𝐮𝐠𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧?”

I loved the character development of Piper. I liked how she was unapologetically herself. We don’t get to see her change herself or her personality for someone, but instead we get to see her find her true self and grow. Brendan was really sweet as well. I liked how he was working on making her fall in love with him even when she kept promising him nothing serious. Another thing is the sibling relationship between Piper and Hannah, it was definitely the highlight of the book. I loved how these two were always there for each other.

If you love Schitt’s Creek, rom-coms, small town romances, and sunshine/grumpy books than you need to add this to your TBR! This book had me missing summer so if you want to get your brain out of the cold pick this book up!
