Millie Morris has always been one of the guys. And she, just like her four best guy friends and fellow professors, is single. Millie and her circle make a pact that they’ll join an online dating service to find plus-ones for the event. There’s only one hitch: after making the pact, Millie and one of the guys, Reid Campbell, secretly spend the sexiest half-night of their lives together. Enter “Catherine”—Millie’s fictional profile persona, in whose make-believe shoes she can be more vulnerable than she’s ever been in person. Soon “Catherine” and Reid strike up a digital pen-pal-ship...but Millie can’t resist temptation in real life, either. Soon, Millie will have to face her worst fear—intimacy—or risk losing her best friend, forever.
“𝐖𝐞’𝐥𝐥 𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐚𝐧 𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐧𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭–𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐧𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭, 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐟 𝐰𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐢𝐭–𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐞𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬, 𝐰𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞’𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐞𝐥𝐬𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐲, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝.”
Wow, I LOVED this book! It had everything I enjoy in a book. Romance, laughter, vulnerability and wonderful characters. I love being one of the guys! Guys are so much easier to be around than girls and Millie has a great group of guy friends. Reid, Alex, Chris and Ed are hilarious, this book would be lost without them! I’m very jealous of this friend group, Millie is very lucky.
“𝐒𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐬, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐮𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐞’𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐞𝐞 𝐢𝐭.”
The problem with Millie is that she’s been through a lot over the years which has caused her to shut down and keep everything in. She’s not good at opening up which is why her friends made fun of her dating profile and why she created “Catherine.” She’s able to open up and talk freely and to be herself while she hides behind her phone. Reid wants to move forward with Millie but he needs communication and since Millie can’t give that to him they have no future. Will Millie ever change?
“𝐈'𝐦 𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐥𝐲. 𝐈'𝐦 𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐥𝐲 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐈 𝐝𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐈 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐫 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐈 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐡𝐮𝐫𝐭 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐝𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐟𝐢𝐠𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐭 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐨𝐰𝐧.”
This was one of those can’t put down, just one more chapter kind of books! Most nights I was reading through eyes that could barely stay open but I just didn’t want to put this down! If you love romantic comedies and friends to lovers books then you have to add this to your TBR! Christina Lauren has yet to let me down!
