“𝐃𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐟 𝐈 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐛𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐚 𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐠𝐮𝐲, 𝐬𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭?”
Stella is an amazing heroine who is a convicted Felon, having just been released from being incarcerated for years. Stella is hardworking, passionate, and totally lovable. She is growing and changing during this story! It was wonderful to follow along as she gains confidence in her job and their relationship grows.
I loved Aiden's character. His cheerful soul is the perfect foil for Stella's weariness and pessimism. We get to see what made him so sunshiny and why it is a part of who he is. And, geez, does he leave the "nice guy" behind in the bedroom. So...much...steam...and I was here for every minute of it!
“𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐛𝐮𝐭𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐬𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐛𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐝 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞’𝐬 𝐧𝐨 𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐭—𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐨𝐫 𝐦𝐲 𝐚𝐬𝐬.”
This book also speaks on how difficult it can be for individuals to get a job after being released from prison & the harmful stereotypes they face. These stereotypes can make it incredibly difficult for these individuals to get a job & re-build their life, so I appreciated that Tessa Bailey spoke on this.
“𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭. 𝐌𝐲 𝐜𝐨𝐜𝐤 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐰𝐡𝐢𝐬𝐤𝐞𝐝 𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐯𝐲 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐚 𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐡 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐭.”
This isn't some serious love story for the ages or anything. It’s pure unadulterated fun, with heaping doses of feel-good and raunchy. Add in the themes of finding oneself and getting a second chance, along with loads of Christmas cheer, and this is just about the perfect holiday read for me. 🎄 🎅
